My name is Sam and like a lot of other people, I’m a 30-something living in Brooklyn with my two three cats: Benjamin Franklin, Martin van Buren, and Eleanor Roosevelt. I have a background in science, having gotten my master’s degree studying behavioral neuroscience, but jump around in life and always find myself looking to learn more and do something new.
This blog is for anyone interested in cycling. Bikes are fun! But my main goal is to bring more awareness to the many different kinds of cyclists. There are so many resources on how to go pro, how to ride real fast, how to spend your life savings on everything carbon, etc.
What resources are there about how to be just okay at bikes? I’m hoping this blog will serve as one. I ride when I can, I struggle to teach myself maintenance, I HATE climbing hills (and I don’t want to get better at them!), disc brakes? No thanks!
I’m out here with my bikes, just… trying. A lot of other people are doing the same thing but how do we share in that experience? It’s time for me to talk about my successes, my failures, and all the in-betweens. For all those other people who are just okay at bikes, you’re not alone. Plus, I think we have a little more fun this way.
