We now return to our regularly scheduled programming (after my regularly scheduled hiatus…)
Day One: NYC to Washington, DC to Leesburg, VA
Shout to my helpful homies: Joe from 718 Cyclery, Sheldon Brown, YouTube, the Chainbreaker Bike Book, and Redbeard Bikes.
Global warming means a busy winter riding season.
Who knew that riding bikes could be fun?! Just kidding, it’s ALWAYS fun.
I survived my first micro-tour - a 44-mile self-supported bike camping trip from NYC to Croton Point Park, NY.
And a few other things.
Spoiler Alert: I’m not.
WFH, errands, and you know it… THE PROSPECT PARK DOG BEACH
My first ever commute by bike and some laps in Prospect Park with my B SIG buddies!
I swear that I’ve been doing things these last few weeks!
Now I ESPECIALLY hate climbing.
The wildest Friday night anyone could have.
I registered for my first micro-tour last week. This week, I installed my rear rack and panniers, AND registered for NYCC’s B SIG training program. I can’t be stopped!
I signed up for my FIRST self-supported micro-tour!
All I bought was beer.
I now only go for bike rides on major US holidays.
Sorry, JJ, for yelling at you that I have no more gas to give as I pedaled my way up an advanced, technical trail that we were not supposed to be on in the first place! I didn’t exactly make it over the rock feature at the top of this climb.
Notice anything different?
I keep having this strange, inexplicable allergic reaction around my eyes/face (I swell up and look like a different person - should perhaps start taking advantage of this) but I didn’t let that stop me from riding my bike Saturday, Sunday AND Monday of this long, holiday weekend.
